My cousin, Grace, and I went to the event below. Camane and the Dead Combo. It was amazing.

A male "fadista" and a guitar duo. Haunting. I think that Fado is the music I will hear as I lay dying. It is a music of sorrow and saudade. Of the stuff that never heals. It calls out to me from the end of my days (and from the beginnings). I hear it echo in my sleep and in all the moments when my heart aches for what it does not have.
I am aching to visit the Azores this summer. I currently lack the funds to travel over there for as long as I would like. I would like to be there for several MONTHS. Not only for me (and to visit my family) and to learn the language, but also because I have so many stories BURSTING out of me that I need to be THERE to write.
I have this blog, and http://learnazorean.blogspot.com/
"Learn Azorean Portuguese in Just a Few Thousand Lessons"
I have MANY books in me, and am eager to begin writing THERE. I will do my best to continue in Brooklyn, preparing and working hard. Santa Maria is waiting for me.
